Strictly Lindy

This contest will be in the strictly lindy format. In the prelims couples will dance in heats to three (3) songs each 1 minute and 30 seconds in length. Songs will cover a range of tempos from slow to fast. During the finals couples will dance one (1) song as an all-skate format and one song in the Jam format. During the Jam format couples will each dance 8 eight counts twice and then finish the song as an all-skate.

Open Jack and Jill

Dancers will be assigned partners at random and will dance with a total of 3 partners. The prelims will be danced in all-skate format with songs of 1 minute and 30 seconds in length. Finals will danced to two songs, one in all-skate format and the other in Jam format where dancers will dance to 8 eight counts twice and will finish the rest of the song as an all-skate.

Competition Fees

Competition fees are $20 per couple for the Strictly Lindy contest and $10 per competitor for the Open Jack and Jill Division.

Prizes

Cash prizes will awarded based on the number of competitors in each division. Other fun prizes will awarded to those placing in their divisions top 3 and will be announced at a later date.

Music Selection

Midtown Stomp's head DJ Scott Kaufman will take charge of competition music this year. Scott started DJing back in 1998 and quickly became a scene favorite with his eclectic tastes and witty banter. He's DJ'd at events all around the area including the San Francisco Lindy Exchange and Reno Dance Sensation.
